Mark Aikens is Carol's boyfriend. He's been in love with her for a while but his submissive side hasn't allowed him to rebel against her golden rule and to tell her how he feels. Fear of losing her forever might spur him into action.
Cindy O'Rourke has admired Carol from afar. So, she jumps at the opportunity to work for her idol. Little does she know, things will never be the same for her after that job interview
Carol has been going through a rough patch: world economical crisis, dysfunctional parents, demanding clients, faulty equipment. Without much time for herself, her love life is suffering. So what is the big deal if she fantasizes about a new employee when her boyfriend, Mark, can't give her what she needs? The big deal is - the new receptionist, Cindy, is a woman who threatens to turn her world upside down
This is the steamy tale of an unconventional love triangle which should be read with an open mind and an open heart. Sometimes, love comes to our lives in unexpected ways but with such overwhelming power that the best course of action might be to surrender to it.

FEAR OF REJECTION?
In January 2015, I sent my first submission to such a place – Mischief, the erotica side of HarperCollins. And in March, UPSIDE DOWN got its first rejection email. LOL A very polite one, at that:
“Hello Liz
I hope you are well, and sorry for keeping you waiting for so long. Now, I've had a good look at your proposal, and though it has some intriguing ideas, and has a lot going on to move the story, I don't want to take it for Mischief. I've not that many opportunities at two books per month, and I really have to be certain before I commit.
Kind regards, thank you for your patience, and for your interest in Mischief.”
Well, you might argue that’s not the best way to kick off a Blog Tour, huh? Telling people UPSIDE DOWN has recently been rejected by an erotica publisher isn’t in my best interest, right? But my point here is that my book is in great company!! Many writers have received similar letters and many more will keep on receiving them in the future. The secret is “never give up”! Don’t be paralyzed by fear of rejection! These guys weren’t and look what they’ve accomplished:
- George Orwell’s Animal Farm was rejected by fours publishers, including Faber & Faber, where T.S. Eliot worked. The poet said Orwell’s story wasn’t convincing. DUH! I guess he missed the whole point!!
- Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight almost didn’t see the light of day (pun intended!!) after 14 consecutive rejections. I won’t trash a fellow writer’s work in a public forum, so let me just say I included this book here as an example of perseverance rather than literary quality. LOL
- Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises received a long rejection letter, which ended like this, “Certainly, what is not needed are treatises about bullfights and underemployed men who drink too much.” I guess they were wrong, right? :D
- Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book not only got countless rejections but one of these publishers even told Kipling that he didn’t use the English language properly. Ouch!
- J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter was rejected by 12 publishing houses before the 8-year-old daughter of an employee at Bloomsbury convinced her father the book had potential… the rest is history.
Finally, Margaret Mitchell, much like Scarlett would have done, didn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. And she heard it 38 times before Macmillan said ‘yes’ to publishing Gone With the Wind in 1936, which led to a Pulitzer Prize win the following year and more than 30 million copies sold around the world – not to mention one of my all-time favorite movies. Not bad, huh?
Tune in again tomorrow – check the lineup for UPSIDE DOWN BLOG TOUR at 4WillsPublishing site - to read some of the reviews my first novel UPSIDE DOWN has gotten and then tell me if Mischief was right in their assessment. LOL

About the Author
Apparently, the teacher wasn’t a big fan of those stories, and Liz’s mother bought her a diary. She happily wrote on it for a couple of months. Unable to see the appeal of writing for her own enjoyment only, she gave up on it. She missed the audience her friends provided her in class. She went back to disturbing her dear teacher’s class.
Since then, she has become a hungry reader. She will read anything and everything she can get her hands on – from the classics to erotica. That’s how she has become a writer of erotica and romance, as well.
As a young adult, she participated in a student exchange program and lived in New Orleans for six months. She fell in love with the city and its wonderful inhabitants. NOLA will always hold a special spot in Liz Gavin’s heart. Nowadays, living in Brazil, Liz’s creativity has improved many times because it’s such a vibrant, gorgeous and sexy country.
Welcome to her world of hot Alpha males and naughty, independent women. Add a touch of the paranormal in the presence of some wicked souls and you’ll get the picture.
