Interview with Ella
I began writing during high school. Mainly poems and short stories. I have always had a huge imagination and would mainly write screenplays.
What’s the story behind your latest book?
Trace loses a bet with some friends and has to have a normal “Vanilla” relationship with a girl he has never met. They begin dating, and she tries to keep her past hidden. When things boil over he must help her deal with her past and help her discover who or what is trying to keep them apart. Mystery/ Romance novel.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I knew I had always wanted to write, and with a passion and a little motivation from my husband I wrote my first novella. I am still learning the craft, I have amazing story ideas….hopefully one day I can live up to my characters and do them justice.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Bringing the characters to life. Creating the stories and plots. Like I said, I have a vivid imagination.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything!! They mean the world to me and I can’t believe I actually have a few.

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Sky Watcher is the first story I have ever completed. The first story I ever wrote, was about a girl in high school who was trying to uncover a murder mystery. It was never titled.
What is your writing process?
I like to start with a little brainstorming session. I create my main characters ARC and outline a few scenes. Then I look for pictures that inspire me. Then I open up a word doc. and begin.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story, no. The story which had the greatest impact on me was; That Was Then, This Is Now by S.E. Hinton. I remember studying about her in school, and she became a writer because she couldn’t relate to the stories she had read while she was in school, so her teacher told her to write her own.
How do you approach cover design?
The first book I did the cover design myself, which you can tell. Now I hire people.
What are your five favorite books?
1. That Was Then, This Is Now. By S.E. Hinton
2. Harry Potter (great book)
3. Pride And Prejudice by Jane Austen
4. Can You Keep A Secret by Sophie Kinsella
5. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover.

Describe your desk
Pathetic. It has papers everywhere with random email addresses of prize winners. My calendar is always in view. Also, a notebook with random messages that only I can decipher (sometimes) is always open.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up as a military brat and have lived in many different cities and countries. I think this has helped shape me into the woman I have become. I love traveling and love writing about different places in my stories.
What do you want your fans to know?
I want them to know that I promise to make each book better than the last. I know I am still learning and if you are patient hopefully one day I will knock one out of the park.
