- All he wanted was to get the job done and somehow to endure those long months playing nanny to a spoiled little rich girl. Without strangling her with his bare hands in the process. Well, it is going to be much easier said than done.
- All she wanted was to escape the past and live like any other nineteen-year-old girl. Her plan definitely didn’t include the arrogant, tattooed savage, with his awful mohawk hair and lack of social graces, whose only mission was to stick real close and mess up her life.
But, people aren't always what they seem to be, are they?

“You’re right.” Alex nodded and continued to look at me, with no intention of making a move.
“Are you trying to make me lose it, or am I just imagining it?”
"No. I’m waiting for you to ask me nicely.”
“It wouldn’t cross my mind to ask you for anything.”
“You don’t need to ask me, exactly, just a few polite words: Alex, would you change the bulb? It’s not hard, trust me.”
“Are you serious?”
I couldn’t believe that he, of all people, felt entitled to instruct me about manners. God, he was infuriating. I narrowed my eyes and regarded him carefully, a wicked smile building at the corners of my mouth.
“Alex, honey, would you be so kind as to change the bulb in the chandelier, it would mean such a lot to me?” I asked in the most sugary voice possible.
I watched as a barely noticeable look of satisfaction appeared on his face, and smiled even more. Some men actually lived in the conviction that their word must always be the last.
“And please, while you do that…” I blinked at him like some kind of cartoon, “...be sure and get electrocuted, would you?”
Sasha's father is head of the Russian mafia. Her mother was killed by a rival mafia boss and feeling Sasha's life is now in danger, her father assigns her a bodyguard. Sasha wants nothing to do with her father's life of crime and especially does not want some oaf of a bodyguard following her around but she's not given a choice.
Alex is the bodyguard assigned to Sasha. He's a tall, well-built, tattooed and scarred Russian with a permanent scowl on his face. The last place he wants to be is playing nanny to some spoiled mafia princess. He's alpha from head to toe, strong, protective and doesn't take any crap. I loved him. Oh how I loved him!
Sasha is likable, feisty and not afraid to stand up for herself, my favourite kind of heroine.
The sarcastic banter between them is hilarious. Sasha is determined to do as she wants but Alex always gets his way in the end, even after he's been drugged by Sasha! He's calm (most of the time), authoritative and has killer knife throwing skills. He curses in Russian and is prone to kicking down doors and destroying furniture when he loses his temper.
Over time, they fall for each other, it was realistic and believable but things are not all they seem.
There were some errors but they did not detract from my enjoyment.
I recommend this to anyone who loves alpha males and strong heroines. I will be stalking the author and anxiously awaiting future books.
