The only place Kellan has ever felt at home is on stage. Gripping his guitar in a darkened bar, he can forget his painful past.
These days his life revolves around his music and his band mates, and that's the way he likes it. And then one woman changes everything . . .
Kiera is the kind of girl Kellan has no business wanting - she's smart, sweet, and dating his best friend.
Certain he could never be worthy of her love, he hides his growing attraction . . . until Kiera's own tormented heart hints that his feelings might not be one-sided.
Now, no matter the consequences, Kellan is sure of one thing: he won't let Kiera go without a fight.
My Review
If you’re worried this is just a re-hashing of Thoughless, it isn’t. Yes, the same events happen, of course, but seeing things through Kellan’s eyes added a whole new dimension. His relationship with Denny was explored in more detail, as was his early years and the abuse he suffered from those who were supposed to care for him. S. C. Stephens knows how to pull you into the story. I was right there with Kellan, experiencing his pain and feelings of worthlessness. It was heart wrenching to find out how lonely and vulnerable he really was, and how all he longed for was someone to love him for himself and not just for his body. I’m a sucker for an underdog, and for all his success in the band and his good looks, Kellan is the underdog in this series. If your heart broke for him first time around, reading his point of view will shatter you. Seriously. Have tissues ready.
I hated Kiera in Thoughtless, but I warmed to her a little more in Thoughtful. She had a hard choice, I wouldn’t have wanted to be in her situation, and she did try to fight her attraction to Kellan. However, I can never totally forgive her for hurting him the way she did.
S. C. Stephens is an amazing writer. Even though I knew what was going to happen, Thoughtful held my interest from start to finish. If you loved Kellan, you need to read this. Oh, and the cover is seriously hot!

About the Author
Her debut novel, Thoughtless, an angst-filled love triangle charged with insurmountable passion and the unforgettable Kellan Kyle, took the literary world by storm.
Amazed and surprised by the response to the release of Thoughtless in 2009, more stories were quick to follow. Stephens has been writing nonstop ever since.
In addition to writing, Stephens enjoys spending lazy afternoons in the sun reading fabulous novels, loading up her iPod with writer's block reducing music, heading out to the movies,
and spending quality time with her friends and family.
She currently resides in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her two equally beautiful children.
